Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness was built in 1786 for one certain man named William Inglis that has become the Provost of Inverness. The original house s the heart of the hotel, ensuring every guests to experience a piece of Scottish Heritage. Upon entering the building the ornate ceiling and cornice in the Adams Lounge can be seen, a mark of an elegance and charm that is still there to be seen and experience by the next upcoming generations.The name Kingsmills commemorates a meal mill which stood in the grounds of the hotel until the 1950’s. Licensing of the mill was granted by the crown alone until 1575 hence the “Kings” mills.
