As Hungary's largest hotel with its 499 rooms the 4-star Best Western Hotel Hungaria provides the comfort of home with professional services to tourists, business travellers and conference participants, as well. The central block of the present hotel building serves guests from 1915, the name of the former Imperial Hotel is preserved by one of the function rooms. After its reopening in 1985, the Hungaria Hotel was modernised several times. The Hungaria is the patron of modern Hungarian art: the majority of the works of art were ordered by the hotel, thus the artists were inspired by the place of their display. The most famous of the thirty artists are the renowned sculptors Miklos Melocco, Pal Kõ and Peter Vladimir, Zsuzsa Pereli whose tapestries are known all over the world and Attila Zsigmond, György Puiz and Barna Bardocz reputable masters of applied arts.
