Located just across from Seiryo-ji temple, Togetsutei was first established in 1897 and started as a sacred place of worship where people would come and pray for protection of fires. Along with the changes of that time, Togetsutei relocated to where it is now by the Togetsukyo bridge in Arashiyama.
