Hotel Information
Built in the 1880's Melvin House is arguably one of the finest examples of Victorian architecture in Edinburgh. Situated in the heart of Edinburgh's fashionable West End and within easy walking distance of Princes Street, this new hotel will transport guest from the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh city to the calm nostalgia of a bygone age. In the 1930’s the building served as residence to the young ladies of Queen Margaret College “Domestic Science Institute” before being passed to the National Health Service as a Conference Center in the 1960’s. Now, the house has been transformed to a wonderful Town House Hotel, the elegant public rooms having been restored to their former Victorian Splendor. Spacious public rooms on the ground floor and first floor lead to 22 bedrooms tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard giving views of Edinburgh Castle or the Firth of Forth and the Kingdom of Fife. Melvin House provides historic but modernized accommodation.
