Hotel Information
The building of Hotel Los Cantaros stands in a place where formerly stood a women's prison, until its closure and demolition, which took place in the 70's. The square itself is still known as Plaza de la Carcel Prison Square. In 1983, the prison was pulled down to build Los Cantaros hotel. The property is named takes its name from the 18th century earthenware jugs found in the old prision subsoil. Nowadays, these jugs are displayed in the Town Museum and some can be found in the hotel's reception area. The Prison Square is still preserved and one of its fountains, built in 1839, can still be admired.
