Hotel Information

Hotel Reichs-Küchenmeister is one of the oldest houses built by the nobility in Rothenburg. It goes back to the eleventh century. In 1540 Ferdinand I. stayed in this building and also in 1546 the future emperor Karl V. The emblems of the "Reichs-Küchenmeister" have remained unchanged for 800 years. Beside the Knights' helmet are traditional cooking utensils, symbols of the esteemed trade that was once practiced here. With the "Reichs-Küchenmeister", or "Master Baker of Realm", lay the responsibility for law and order in the free city of Rothenburg.
