New York New York! So much to do/ eat/ play/ see in New York! Don’t miss a thing and make sure you make the most of your trip by visiting very place on our list!
- Our number 1 place to visit is Times Square. The best place to grab a bite to eat as well see a broadway show.
- The best bagel place in Manhattan is aptly named the Best Bagel! We highly recommend the blueberry cream cheese on a toasted cinnamon bagel!
- The statue of Liberty and Ellis Island is a great place to visit- the beauty is jaw dropping and the ferry trip around the island is worth taking as it gives a great 360 degree view!
- The 9/11 Memorial site is where you’ll find a powerful Tribute- twin pools sit on the footprints of where The Twin Towers stood. The silence and peace there is poignant and powerful time for reflection.
- Grimaldi’s is also worth a visit- once you find out where it’s located! ( we won’t spoil it for you!) It’s reputation precedes it- the pizzas are sooo good!
- Magnolia Bakery - made famous as it featured in Sex in the City and is another place to tick off the New York bucket list. The cupcakary have innovative flavours and we recommend everything!
- Market crates is THE place for gorgeous fresh salads- so many varieties of every imaginable salad ingredient!
- Of course a trip to New York is incomplete without a visit to Carlo’s Bakery. The rainbow cake was an absolute winner. As were the Italian butter cookies, as was the chocolate fudge cake as was the red velvet cake......!
- The View for hot chocolate is fabulous! Who knew a rotating restaurant existed!!?! Definitely seeing is believing!
- How can we write about New York without writing about Dylan’s Candy? Owned by Dylan Lauren (Ralph Lauren’s daughter) who has brought out an incredible range of sweets, chocolates and pick and mix.
- A visit to Central Park is also a great way to enjoy New York. An activity that the whole family will enjoy and a great way to explore the park is the horse and carriage ride. Our guide had a wealth of information about the different highlights in the park- our favourite being the fountain featured in the Friends opening trailer.
- The best New York cheesecakes can be found at Juniors!
- Finally, the Mercato restaurant ( in the Gourmet district) is an incredible hidden gym! Apparently, only the locals know about it and we only visited through a recommendation!
As you can see; there’s an incredible amount to do in New York for families, foodies and those who are looking for a fun break!
